How Workshop fits together
The job stays together, from booking to payment
The vehicle, the customer, the parts and the accounts belong to the same job. Follow the work through the planner, the bay and the counter, then explore the tools behind each step.
01 / The workshop planner
Start with the booking, keep the whole day in view
Keep enquiries, bookings and customer orders in the Business Planner. Configured web bookings arrive from your website, while the team can see the vehicle, the time and the work that needs doing.
- Bring bookings together
- Manage customer enquiries and bookings beside the orders they become.
- Keep the team informed
- Use booking comments, messages and notifications to pass the job details on.
- Plan the next visit
- Set follow-ups and reminders against the customer’s work.
02 / The job card
Quote from the vehicle and the work already recorded
Bring the customer and vehicle into the order, add the parts and labour, and keep notes and attachments with the job. Vehicle database and registration integrations help identify the right vehicle when configured.
- Find the vehicle
- Use vehicle records and the configured database integration.
- Build the order
- Carry quotes, job cards and parts through to the completed invoice.
- Keep the evidence
- Link comments and attachments to the customer order.
03 / Products & pricing
Find the part and know what you can supply
Maintain the item file, check inventory and choose the right customer price. Packages, catalogue items, markups and promotions sit beside the stock records used for ordering and stocktakes.
- One item file
- Keep descriptions, images, units and stock records together.
- Price the work
- Use selling price slots, customer prices and configured markups.
- Control inventory
- Count stock, review adjustments and track branch transfers.
04 / Supplier connections
Order the parts from the job that needs them
Create supplier orders within customer orders and receive goods against the purchasing record. Supported electronic supplier connections and catalogue integrations help bring the information back into Marlin.
- Order within the job
- Connect the required parts to the customer order.
- Receive and reconcile
- Process deliveries, supplier invoices and credits.
- Connect catalogues
- Enable Burson EzyParts, Repco Navigator Pro or other supported integrations.
05 / Accounting & fleet
The invoice is already part of the accounts
Customer accounts, supplier payments, bank reconciliation and the ledger use the same transactions as the workshop. Configured fleet workflows track deliveries and credits, and the optional Xero connection supports workshops that use an external accounting file.
- Work from the transactions
- Reconcile customer, supplier and bank activity in Marlin.
- See fleet balances
- Match external fleet credits to the work delivered.
- Report on the business
- Use the dashboard, reports centre and financial templates.
06 / The mobile app
Keep the job card with the technician
The Marlin mobile app brings planner tasks, comments and attachments to the device at the vehicle. The counter can stay informed as the technician updates the work, without passing a paper job card around.
- See the task
- Open and progress assigned planner work.
- Record the details
- Add job comments and attachments from the device.
- Connect the customer
- Use configured communication and portal tools around the same job.

Talk to Workshop salesFleet work
Fleet is a module, not a customer type. Internal fleet is paid by your own head office; external fleet is paid in credits by the fleet company, and Marlin tracks the difference.
- External fleet
- Jobs are recorded against fleet customers, raising a pending credit balance against the supplier.
- Fleet credits
- Credits from the fleet company come in as supplier credits and match against the original deliveries.
- Internal fleet
- Work paid by your own head office company, inside the same Marlin system.
- Fleet reporting
- The Fleet Credits report and the Fleet Activity tab show where every claim stands.
