Founded with a vision to revolutionise the automotive aftermarket industry, Megabus has grown from a small software startup to a leading provider of comprehensive digital solutions. Our journey began in June 1979, when Jeff Malley, a brilliant pioneer of software technology in the Australasian tyre industry, envisioned a simple goal: to harness the full potential of microcomputers for business applications, empowering automotive businesses with tools that enhance productivity, streamline operations, and improve customer satisfaction—all during a time when personal computers were non-existent!

The development of Megabus' first tyre retailing system took place in Melbourne in 1981. Over the years, we have continuously evolved, embracing new technologies and expanding our offerings to meet the changing needs of our clients. Notably, we introduced the first software subscription model in Australia, allowing smaller and independent tyre retailers and wholesalers to leverage the power of software without the hefty upfront capital investment.

​During 2013, Megabus sought out potential partners and was excited to find a like-minded company that shared its values and commitment to customer that would deliver on the vision. In June 2015, in a significant milestone, Megabus was then acquired by Constellation Software Inc. (TSX: CSU). This acquisition has provided Megabus with a stronger corporate platform as well as greater access to resources and expertise to improve its product portfolio, market reach and level of service to customers, enabling us to further our mission and expand our capabilities.

The Marlin suite of software products encompasses supply chain management, inventory control, wholesale distribution, retail distribution, point-of-sale, e-commerce, financial control, and business intelligence applications.
